rob, i would appreciate if you can highlight michelle yeoh. pls do not underestimate her box office power. she is the no 1 kick-ass queen & best actress in asia. even jet has jackie to fight for but not michelle. no asean movie-goer do not know her. once again, i plead to include her name or image in the poster. i've super movie marketing sense & believe that definitely works well. my previous experience for those movie floped with michelle in it due to the stupid movie campaign did not optimize michelle star power. for instance, sunshine. but look at the success of 007 & CTHD box offices. It was because michelle was highlighted in the movie which attracted so many audiences. MICHELLE YEOH JUST HAS THAT MOVIE BOX OFFICE MAGIC at least in asia...

Ok Sidsel C (cool name by the way) your right this place is very very cool but can i just say you mentioned jonathan you know hes a great character and john Hannah is a great actor but sadly he doesn't get much of a mention on here very often and next the Brendan he looks to be the only returning actor soo maybe we should promote him alittle more, I love it in The Mummy 1 where he scares Evie then climbs out of the Sarcoficus as if hes drunk you can see the plot change there if you look i heard on some..extra...somewhere that originally Johnathan was meant to be a Drunk but then they changed there minds and told him to be sobre so if you look you can see how hes sorta drunk climbing out of the Coffin then sobre in the next breath lol. Also its cool where he says "currently my career is on a HIGH note" and his voice goes up high when he says.....HIGH.

I agree that John Hannah is a good actor. I usually watch anything he is in on TV . I knew of him long before he was in the Mummy films. He did bring a lot of humour to the films and we should mention him more here. Sorry John.

Well, my name’s unusual because I’m from Denmark. In 2006 I changed my last name to Carnahan. I’m a huge fan of Jonathan Carnahan, but that was not because of him I changed it, it was because there were no other last names that suited me other than Carnahan. But of course it was by watching The Mummy, that I became familiar with the name.

Well anyway, John Hannah is my all time favorite actor and the Mummy is my favorite movie (watched it so many times, I’ve lost count). I have a lot of merchandise from the films. Just wished there were some Jonathan stuff out there (I’d have loved an action figure LOL) and you’re right, Jonathan isn’t mentioned that much on this site. It would be great with a picture somewhere of him from The Mummy 3.

The first scene you mentioned with Jonathan, is one of my favorites. Also in the first film where he’s with all those zombie-like humans and tries to act like them and in the second film, where he just after Rick says "Uh Hello… Jonathan, I thought I said no more wild parties" - Jonathan says “Well, when you’re popular”.
There are so many scenes to love!

And as a huge fan as I am of the franchise, I’ve also seen the animated series. Being an artist, I’ve also drawn fanart and always including Jonathan haha.

Sidsel c, everyone who loves the Mummy films is welcome to promote the actor they like. A lot of us on here are Brendan Fraser fans and we spend a lot of time talking about him. It's only fair that John Hannah fans should have their say too. I think we all agree that he brought a lot of comedy to the films. I like the scene in the Mummy just before he jumps off the burning boat .
As I said previously I've always watched him in TV dramas, prior to the Mummy films and since.
If you want to chat about him here feel free. We all like him as an actor and recognise that his character in the films greatly enhanced the fun element.

sorry guys this is just an opinion but without rachel weisz its not going to be the same. it was perfect with the actors that was in the first and second. the chimistry was perfect.

I honestly think many trolls on the board (IMdb) are Rachel's agent: manager, publicists, her families, and actors/actresses that had lost out on the part (it happens) using different user names. They are so pissed off because the studio DARED to make the Mummy 3 without her, like the sun won't shine without Rachel's permission? Please. It's her associates and not the so called fans that are making all the ruckus. Most people in general don't give a hoot where the movie is being filmed; who is directing, what the story is about, and who is in the movie. We (as fans) just want something that is entertaining, makes us laugh and enjoy for two hours. Unfortunately, the trolls had made this into a politically incorrect garbage.

I'm not sure I agree with your belief about the trolls. Rachel has a small baby and couldn't really take it to China. I think the trolls are just nasty, bitchy people, who like their own way. A bit like school bullies. They thought they could wield some power on this site but we are formidable enemies and we keep this site as positive as possible. We can accept it if people have some concerns and feel they are valid opinions but we always tell them to keep an open mind until they see the film.
We all feel privileged to be kept informed of the filmmaking process. Rob has been kind enough to let us be involved. We firmly believe that this film will be fantastic.

But I don't share your beliefs about the nasty trolls being send by Rachel. I love Rachel very much too and always thought the chemistry between her and Brendan to be fantastic in the first two movies. It isn't quite clear why she couldn't reprise her role, but I'm sure maz is stating the right thing: Rachel has a little cute kid and just couldn't go to China.

Wooow!! The nerve of some people!! When did these average joes (Sally & Bam) become such acclaimed movie critics!? I mean, without seeing a trailer or even seeing the movie they have their minds made up on TM3's outcome. That is really ridiculous IMO. First of all, when the hell did it become a competition between the two directors anyway... and Secondly, I don't remember Sommers having that awesome of a track record... The only movies I remember him for are the Mummy movies, The Jungle Book, and dare I say Van Helsing (Ahhhh!!). Most of his films concentrate more on the C.G. anyway. LOL. Van Helsing was okay... It's just not one of those movies I'll go out of my way to watch again. I liked the Frankenstein and the Hyde characters (and of course Kate Beckinsale and Wolveri--- I mean Hugh Jackman. LOL) but everything else was a little too campy for me. I just found out about this site. Pretty cool. I haven't really seen any big news on the new Mummy flick except for the poster which is pretty disappointing to me at least. I think they could've made the poster way better. It looks kind of cheap to me. Hopefully the movie doesn't turn out the same.

Has there been a trailer out yet? I keep checking the internet and nothing shows up. Does anybody have a link to the trailer?

We were told a teaser would be posted within a month on February 18th. Here we are nearly three months later and no trailer. We have seen plenty of other stuff. No teaser though. There was a teaser posted today for the new X Files movie which opens only a week before this one.On Rob's last post he signs off by saying he will get back to us soon as to a debut date of the trailer- NOT that we will have the trailer but that we will get a date. How long has it been since the teaser was screened at show west? I have even been to a site where the teaser screened there ( at show west) was described in detail by someone who saw it. I respect the fact that a lot goes into making a movie HOWEVER you can only promise people something for so long without delivering before they become pissed off or lose interest or both. I wouldn't go dissapointing people who have loyally followed proceedings on this site and have ground to make up to fans BEFORE THE MOVIE EVEN COMES OUT. Just a thought. As things stand this will be the last of the big summer trailers to come out and it will have done so after the first summer hit of the year (Ironman). Would it not have been smarter to release some footage before May 1 B4 the summer movies started being released? Not sure on this one but thought it warranted a mention.

In the movie business a lot can go amiss. We are just some random fans here, and we will watch the trailer when it comes out. Rob has shown us so much already, I cannot see why a lot people here seem to think that the movie is not going to be finished, or going to be shown at the cinemas just because the trailer is not yet here.

@Jamil Okay, if you think that poster looks cheap...Do you even know the first mummy posters?? They looked liked that, too. I mean, that's the image the mummy movies have created, don't they?? I at least think they have hit the nerve of the mummy movies with that kind of posters...Like it or not.

It looks poorly made and did not have enough time devoted into the making of it. The first Mummy posters didn't look like this one at all. They looked epic.

Well, the first poster...To tell you the truth, when I saw it for the first time, I never ever wanted to watch such a crap movie. later, I did of course. And see where it brought me.... But I think the teaser poster here is better, yes. Anyway, it's just a teaser poster, so there will be another one sooner or later.
Even if the teaser is a little bit late, I'm not worried about TM3. There are other movies I'm desperately waiting for, which are coming out (supposedly) soon and there is no info on them whatsoever.
Rob is keeping us informed here once in a while. That's much more than other movie marketing machines had too offer in the past...

Vidaboy, we take your point but it isn't necessary to have a trailer 3 months in advance of the film. Not all cinemagoers are influenced just by a trailer. There are millions of people who saw the first two movies and will be interested in this one. All the actors have their own fan base so they will go and see it. Martial arts fans will be interested because of the martial art stars involved.
The trailer will be here soon. Don't stress about it.
