TRULY EASTER

March 24, 2008 1:20 PM

DEAR MUMMY FAMILY—

Well, my family increased by three last Thursday night. Jasi, Zoe and Sean arrived very small (around 3 ½ pounds) but very healthy. They’re now in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where they will stay for the next month before coming home. Barbara is terrific and coming home from the hospital as I write this. It is truly the season of re-birth so happy Easter to you all.

There’s more good news on “The Mummy” front: I have shown the film to the exec’s at Universal and they are through-the-roof ecstatic. We screened a few weeks ago for all the relevant department heads (home video, distribution, foreign, p.r., marketing, etc.) and the reaction was unanimous. It’s running around 1 hr. 53 minutes and, daily as we hone, it’s taking its final shape. The studio has been very collaborative and supportive. You know they love it when they ask you if you need any more money to enhance the visual effects budget!!! Are there more shots that I want to do but didn’t have the money to do?!!! Of course, the answer is yes; there is never enough to entertain the audience in any film. That kind of support from Chairmen Marc Shmuger and David Linde, President Donna Langley, and V.P.’s Jeff Kirschenbaum and Erik Baiers is rare in Hollywood so I am very pleased all the way around.

Still more good news: the studio’s marketing department headed by Adam Fogelson, Eddie Egan, and Frank Chiocchi cut a cool teaser trailer and debuted it at Showest in Vegas week before last and it played off the chart to 2000 cigar chomping guys who own all the theaters in the United States. Some of the effects in it were temp so I am now polishing them up so it can be released in theaters soon.

I will premiere the piece here on my blog so you guys who have been so supportive to me through the entire process will get first crack at it. Of course, I will be very open to your reactions and hope that you will be as excited by it as I am.

I am moving the film’s completion down field on many fronts: Bruce Stambler is deep in the sound design; Randy is writing the score which is big, colorful, thematic, and going to be recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, a choral section, various Chinese and Tibetan instruments, Tibetan over-toning monks, and more at Abbey Road in London starting in mid-May. We have begun the long laborious process of ADR (dialog replacement) with all the principal actors. When you are on the set recording sound very often the tracks are polluted by wind and snow machines, engines, or in our case once, a huge sand storm. All the dialog in these cases has to be replaced with perfect matches to the lip synch of the original. Dialog editor Becky Sullivan and I start with Michelle Yeoh tomorrow after she flies in from Malaysia. Really looking forward to seeing her queenly presence again. The visual effects are a constant struggle but, pixel by pixel, DD, R & H and I carve out our successes. There are around 1100 vfx shots in the film and, as of now, I have final’d only 100. This sounds disastrous, but the majority of the time is spent on the minority of effects and the ever-increasing momentum of the pipelines usually carries the day. It always gets nasty near the end. Our Academy Award-winning sound mixers, Gary Summers, Scott Milan, and Dan Leahy will start the beginning of May on the pre-dubs.

Eventually, all these strands will weave into one movie. There are over 400 people working on the film at this phase and each has only one thing in heart every day: how to make “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” the very best viewing experience for you guys it can be.

Todd Grossman and I have put together a webisode on visual effects to give you the feel of what we are up to (without giving too much away!) and this will air this week.

I know there have been big gaps in communication but I think you can see the complexity of time commitments involved plus, when the swells come, I have to get out there into the break to catch a few waves, if for nothing else, to preserve my sanity. Some say I am not achieving that goal but what the hell…

Bye-bye, for now….

Rob

OOHHHHH MYYYYYY GOOOOOODNEESSS!!

Dear Rob, I´m absolutely speechless...for now, I´ll just say:
CONGRATULATIONS ROB AND BARBARA!!!! I´m so glad that your three little sweeties are good, thanks God !!and you Barbara, good job Lady !! and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ROB, cuz I´m sure that i´m gonna LOVE this movie !!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!

Delilah.

Hi Rob, warmest congratulations to you and Barbara on your three little bundles of joy!! I am so happy for you!! Thanks for the update on TM3--I am tickled pink to hear about the wonderful reception it got from the Universal execs and the theater owners at ShoWest. Surely this bodes very well for its overwhelming success, which I would be thrilled to witness. I am soooo psyched to see it this summer!!

DeeDee my dear friend, the excitement over this is building--isn't this awesome??? I can't wait to see it and chat with you about it (better yet, if only we could see it together, SOB SOB...) Oh well...:(

Hi there to the rest of the TM3 gang, sorry I've been gone so long. I've been super busy, but I'm lurking around here when I can. Hope you are all doing well. :)

Take care everyone.

KL

Many congratulations on the birth of your children Rob!!!!!
Try and get as much sleep as you can before they come home cos you won't get much after that! Please give Barbara my love. I expect she feels tons lighter now.
Thankyou for the update. I'm so chuffed for you that the film is being received well. I can't wait till August!!!!!
We are all waiting in anticipation of the webisode and then the much awaited teaser. I'm sure the teaser will be great!!!
Hiya KL. Nice to see you posting here again. We've missed you.

Thanks, Maz. I've missed you guys too. :)

I should get congrats out of the way first, so with that, I'm glad to hear all went well with the birth of your new children.

As for The Mummy 3, I can't express enough how excited I am that you're working on bringing another Mummy Movie to life and can only look forward to another great adventure from you and your great staff and crew.

I have one question for you, not even sure if you will answer, but it never hurts to ask.

When you put a rough build of the film in front of the Universal executives and so on, how is it that they can be so ecstatic about the movie when so many parts are not in place? With computer generated shots that are still in rough form or nonexistent (minus the 100 shots you’ve given the thumbs up), and audio tracks that you say, are all over the board. I have confidence that it will all come together in the best way possible with the time given to you, I guess I just wished that I better understood what you meant by… the private screenings you gave, how they could be so happy with the film. Is it more the potential of the film, the story, that you are talking about?

D. Wickum

Hey,KL, my beloved Sister of the Heart !! It´s so nice to see you here darling !! I´m sure you know how much we missed you !! Aawww isn´t that great...the babies and their Mom are fine !!

I´m so glad reading what Rob has written...he sounds so enthusiastic, so contented with this movie and so committed to his job !
Hey dear Rob...once again thank you ! and most of us are sure that your Mummy-movie will be the " very best viewing experience "...
I can´t wait to see that " cool teaser trailer " !!

HELLLLL YEEEAAAHHH!!! GO TEAM COHEN !!

PS: Hey Rob, pretty please...do preserve your sanity !! LOL LOL

DeeDee

Just have to say Congrats on everything that's going on for you Rob. I also want to state that The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is my most anticipated of the year. Can't wait, because I know it's in capable hands. Being a big fan of the old classic Universal series and this one I am totally liking the idea of The Mummy bringing in a totally knew villain. Can't wait! You got my support

Congrats Rob!

I can't wait for the new video and the trailer.

Goodmorning Mummy Fam!

Robbie! Great to hear from you. I look forward to your updates. Congrats on the family. I'm very happy for you.

To my friends on here, sorry for my absence. I was on holiday in Disney. I'm glad to see I didn't miss the trailer, but I am still anticipating it like nothing else right now.

When I get a moment to unwind and unpack, I will read the other post's comments and respond here.

I'll talk to you later, gang,
Ryan

WWROD?

To answer D. Wickum--

A film at this point would be difficult for the average person to see but the exec's at Universal have been doing this a long time and on hundreds of movies so the key is really imagination. Although only 100 vfx are finished about 500 are sketched in some level of development. This helps the story clarity as well as pre-viz and storyboards. The music is all borrowed from other films so the film is smoothed and made more cohesive on that level. Sound effects of the most basic kind have been layered in by Pete our talented assistant editor so gun shots, avalanche roar, yeti howl are all there to enhance the images. The story of the film and the richness of our very watchable cast is all there in 3000 different shots that are in-camera. Brendan, Maria, John, Michelle, Jet, Luke, Isabella, Anthony, Jessie, David and Liam are all such fine actors, they need no enhancement to make the movie come alive. I guess the answer is imagination. You must have it to view a film but these people have it so they can not only see what the film is but what it is going to be. That is why they are so happy.

Rob

Congratulations rob!! cant wait for the trailer and maybe some hirez posters or at least decent quality.

Never had a doubt, ... lol.

The movie sounds like it really is being received well by the people who matter as of now and I'm so glad because I know this movie is going to do well this August.

Thanks, again Rob and I do apologize for my impatience. I'm just really excited about seeing teaser for the film and getting an idea as to the look and feel of the movie, all of which I know none of us here will be let down. Thank you

Peace and love,
Steven :)

OOhhhh, no, no, no, Comen, wait a minute young Lady: if anybody is gonna get frisky with Rick...that will be " I,I, I, me, me, me "
LOL LOL LOL

DeeDee

PS: You know what, Maz...I´m starting to think that our Rascal Captain doesn´t deserve to be rescued...ha! Cappie, the trailer is coming, the new webisode is coming... AND YOU WON´T BE ABLE TO WATCH THEM.YOU WILL STAY IN THE DARKNESS !! That will be your penance, you, randy man you ! hahahaha. LOL LOL

HELLLLL YEAAAHHHH !! GO TEAM COHEN !! Now, featuring THREE NEW LITTLE MEMBERS !!!
LOL LOL LOL

Wow when I read show west report I new the film was going to be great. Keep up the great work looking forward to the teaser trailer.

Hey DeeDee, my dearest SOTH!! *big hug* It's good to be back, sweetie! And it's so wonderful indeed that babies and Mom are doing fine! Awwww, how precious... And yes, I love reading Rob's updates, feeling his enthusiasm and dedication to this exciting film--and I can't wait either to see the teaser trailer!! *jumps up and down excitedly*

(Errrr...by the way...about getting a lil' frisky with Rick...maybe I could have a turn?? Pretty please? ;) LOL...)

See ya later gang...

KL (Getting a little naughty ;)

Congratulations on the birth of your sweet babies! My children were preemies also. In the NICU for 40 days and the other 10 days.(not twins--we had to do this twice --separated by 3 years) Just a little over 2 lbs. Hang in there, it's a tough time.

Monique

Ohhh KL...do you even have to ask, honey?? Of course my dear...be my guest...Enjoy your turn with Rick !! LOL LOL LOL ( hey Brennie, we are just kidding, you know. We don´t wanna disrespect you, darling ! ***BLUSH***)

BTW, about TM3´s score "... which is big, colorful, thematic, and going to be recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, a choral section, various Chinese and Tibetan instruments, Tibetan over-toning monks, and more at Abbey Road in London starting in mid-May "... whoooaaaa...doesn´t sound simply spectacular ???

HELLL YEEAAAHH!!! GO TEAM COHEN !!!

DeeDee

DeeDee, I'm glad you said that.
If I were in Brendan's shoes I think I'd be blushing. BTW could I have him for a while too....Just kidding Brennie honest.
I think the whole experience of this film is going to be stunning. I can't wait until August!!!!!
In the meantime HELL YEAH GO TEAM COHEN AND LITTLE COHENETTES!!!!!!

Aww gee...You're so right, DeeDee, and I should have said something myself...and you know I usually would...but I didn't because I figured we were talking about RICK the character. No disrespect meant to Brendan AT ALL. So, I'm so sorry Brendan if we came across as too racy. We would never disrespect you on purpose! :)

And yes, it sounds like the musical score will be absolutely magnificent...as will the entire film. Can't wait!!

KL

A huge congratulations to you and your family - you must be ecstatic!

Sounds like the movie is truckin' right along. You've got at least one fan sitting on the edge of her chair, waiting for a teaser. We are all breathless to see the product of such an incredible adventure in filmmaking!

Congrats To You & Ur Family's blessings.

I've been in & out, checking up on "The Mummy 3" since it's been in develpoment, and I've been very anxious for it's release. I Kno I speak for every Mummy Fan when i say, WE, the fans, Thank you for creating a third movie. Please keep up the FANTASTIC work.
I Can't wait to see this one!!!

Chaz, yes, be sure that you´re speaking for everyone of the members of this big Mummy Family: we are absolutely grateful to Rob, for the fantastic movie that he is making. BTW Heather, we are all sitting at the edge of our chairs LOL LOL LOL

KL darling...it´s OK,actually, I´m sure that Brendan knows that we wouldn´t disrespect him on purpose...and actually yes, we were talking about RICK the character, you are absolutely right...so, everything´s OK I guess...

And so... OK Maz, you can take your turn too
LOL LOL LOL LOL
( I´m sorry...I couldn´t help it !! LOL )

DeeDee

I agree girls. I'm sure Brendan knows that we can be very cheeky in the comfort of our own homes and hiding behind our computer screens but we would be very respectful (and maybe even shy....well maybe not DeeDee) if we met him in the flesh ( oh God, why did I choose that word? I'm off again!!!!) I'm incorrigible (I'm not sure I spelled that correctly but you get my drift). Anyhow, we just get carried away when we get together, don't we girls.
We're really very well behaved women (and may my nose grow like pinnochios for lying my head off)!!!!

Rob, I'm so sorry. I forget to wish you and your wife & family a big congratulations on the birth of jasi, zoe, and sean. I really hope it was a wonderful Easter for all.

Thanks for the update and I will try to remain more patiend in my anticipation of the teaser!

Love n' Peace,
Steven :)

WOW!! I've been struggling with my internet connection all day and I'm glad to finally be able to comment on the blog you just bestowed upon us Rob. Firstly let me congratulate you on the three bundles of joy you received last Thursday. I'd say three babies would equal to about $300 million+ domestically for TM3!! LOL. I'm also very happy to see that your film has been so well recieved by the industry suits, and I'm very impressed at the fact that your effects budget is getting a little more padding now. I think the original estimate you gave was 700 efx shots, so for it to now be 1100 I'm really f*ckin' ecstatic!! Hopefully you'll be springing that trailer on us sooner than later, I've been gnawing on my fingernails in anticipation and I've almost reached bone. LOL. Keep refining those visual efx too cause I wanna see something a bit shinier than what the Showest folks watched and spoiled for me. Oh yea... Rob when will a hi-rez version of the poster be online?? The blurry one on comingsoon.net just isn't cutting it anymore. Well I guess that does it, I think I've covered everything I wanted to cover. Thanks for another update Rob and keep surfing and making a kick ass movie!! Good Luck with the rest of post-production!!

HELLLL YEAAAA!! GO TEAM COHEN!!

P.S. Delilah my dear, I cannot believe you were just gonna leave me in the underworld!! I was testing you the whole time and Maz was the only one hell-bent on saving my life. You kicked me to the curb for a Rick O' Connell aberration... How Dare You!! LOL. I may just have to demote you and give Maz the title of Lieutenant now Sis. Me, become friends with the enemy... I may be a scoundrel madam, but I'm not a completely ruthless one. No matter how many half naked concubines I'm offered. Good Day!! LOL.

Yeah girls, actually I think you're right--I'm sure that BF really would understand us mischievous but well-meaning ladies-- ;) So, no worries! :)

mmmm...Excuse me Cappie...what did you mean with " Rick O´Connell aberration " ?? Did you mean that yummy hunk of a man that was " partying" along with you, down there in the underworld?? Well, he didn´t look like an " aberration" to me...that´s why I was a little seduc...ooopsss...I mean " confused" !! He looked so strong, gorgeous and devilishly handsome like the real one ( mmmOK, maybe a little too much " devilishly ", I gotta admit it !! LOL LOL )
Ohhh anyway...you won´t see me begging Cloudy...just do what you have to do...If you wanna demote me, fine ! And if you promote Maz, then the rank of Lieutenant will be in very good hands...But I SAW YOU debriefing Anck-su-namun...and several times, you rogue... don´t deny it Captain !!! LOL LOL

errrr...Lt??? Double-D
LOL LOL

HELL YEEEAAAHHH!!! GO TEAM COHEN !!!

Agreed KL, sweetie :) !!

DeeDee

Please Mummettes, excuse my multiple-posts, but I forgot this:

"if we met him in the flesh ..."
OK, Maz, just...don´t push the envelope, dear !
LOL LOL

DeeDee

Uuuuuuum... I don't know what you're talking about Double-D, I had on my invisibility cloak the whole time. LOL. Let's just put the past in the past and move on.

HELLL YEAAA!! GO TEAM COHEN!!

P.S. You're still on probation though soldier!! I've got a feeling that you may be hiding a certain someone in your tent. LOL.

Hello sir, Hows Life?

Congrats to your family. Its nice to know you guys and the movie were blessed this easter

I am really looking forward to this and cant wait to see the teaser trailer and the movie itself. I think its going to be a fantastic movie.

Thanks again for making this movie and again congrats to you Rob Coen and your family...

-Nick

Dear director,

Big big congrats to your family.

Can't wait to see the trailer.

Best wishes,
Maria

Always, always believe, Rob.
Three babies, wow, no sleep for the wearied, but big congrats though.
See you at the theatre...

Hey Capt. Cloudy, DeeDee, maz

Where are you?? Already back from the underworld?? But I'm still here and I'm lost...Help!? It's a little bit creepy in here...

And I don't wanna miss the trailer just because I can only access that website made by TM3 bashers. waaaaaaaah.....Someone is coming. This is really creepy.

^^ Nice day everyone.

Comen sweetie, just follow the light. The nasties can't follow you there. You haven't missed the teaser yet so there's still time to get back to base camp. Good luck soldier!!!! If you get stuck, we'll come and get you.

Hello all.

How has the Mystery Machine been running without me? I, like Cloudy, have had my invisibilty cloak on. Ron Weasley swiped it from Harry Potter for me. It's all good. Is it August, yet?

I like that Mr. Cohen responded here on the blog. Does that mean he's been reading all the things we've been saying? I hope I haven't misspoke! I hope we don't talk amongst ourselves too much, and leave Robbie out of the conversation.

On the odd chance Mr. Cohen is reading this: Sir, isn't it ironic that you've now directed three movies with the word 'dragon' in it? And, even more amazingly, 'Dragonheart' and 'Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story' are both really strong, and good. I can't wait to see this film. Can we expect it to follow suit? Thanks, pal. Congrats, again, on being a pop again.

Alright team, how is everything else? We are not all present and accounted for, are we? Maz, Comen, Cloudy, Dee, KL, and everyone else, how goes it?

Semper Fi.
Ryan

It going quite good Ryan, we're all training for the second Troll War. Hopefully we'll be able to simply negotiate instead of fight this time. I definitely think the trailer will give us the edge though. I actually went to the underworld too, and got into a little mischief. You missed out on hell of a party bro.

Lt. Maz, what do you wanna do about Comen?? We have two options; either we go to the underworld, or we find Comen's body and use the Book of the Dead. I'm game for whatever mission you choose. I've got my armor on and I'm waiting. Get Lt. Double-D on the horn and tell her we need her at base camp ASAP!! I will be in the dirigible. Captain Out!!

HELLLL YEAAAAA!! GO TEAM COHEN!!

Captain, Lt. Maz here. If Comen is not back at base camp by dawn, we'll meet you on the dirigible at 0600 hours for the start of a rescue mission. Hopefully, she'll have taken my advice and got herself safely outta there. I'll stand by for your further orders.
P.S Please don't imbibe too much tonight. We need you on the ball and ready to roll in the morning.

Congratulations on the new blessings, Mr. Cohen! =D I wish THE best for you and your new bundles of joy!

My gosh, I'm shaking with excitement every time I visit this place XD The movie is going to be just FANTASTIC!

Oh, believe me, Cap, I'm ready for it. I just have to remember not to take anything personally. I read what I missed on the other page. Good stuff. I found the Book of the Dead if you need it. Seek and ye shall find, ay. And don't forget what I told you: You don't negotiate with terrorists.

The trolls will be here, but I think it is pretty classy that Mr. Cohen is doing this as a blog and there are comments. Another filmmaker might not be as open to opinions, especially on the internet. It's like inviting millions of faceless critics. But I think that is the theme of this place: open-mindedness. All of us faithful are staying open-minded. I know I want to love the film, but I may not. I will be objective.

I'm a pretty good jusge of a horse, and I have a good feeling about this so far. Now bring on that trailer, and a hi-res poster!

Ry

I cannot wait for the trailer, i just wanna have a taste for wath they prepared for us.
KL, hi, congratulations to you for your new siblings.

Uooohh...so, I´m still a Lieutenant, I see...Oh Cappie, you are so generous !! And Maz has joined the officer´s group ! Good for you girl. Hey Captain, and what about David? Are you gonna promote him ?...Ooopss...and BTW where the hell is David ???

HELLLL YEEAAHH!!! GO TEAM COHEN !!

Hey Indy, thanks, but I think you have me confused with Kyle, Rob's son. I'm a different person (I'm a woman, to start with! LOL) But thanks anyway, and I'd like to extend the same sentiments to Kyle...
Congratulations Kyle on being a new big brother to three!! That's awesome! :)

KL

Hey DeeDee Sweetie!! We're on at the same time...how cool is that!! As usual, we're perfectly in synch...

See ya later Hon...

KL

Hi KL dear...I´m here again at the Camp...Actually I was around before, in synch with you...but I had to go and fulfill one of my duties: to cook the communal meal for the troop, you know ( well, for " my" personal troop !LOL )

DeeDee

What are you girls talking about of Brendan in relation to flesh ???Ha,ha a dirty mind is a joy forever ?Sorry Brendan but you ARE verry attractive to a lot of woman..Now don't start drowling while watching the mummy 3 Dee and Maz ??
I just finished my first spiritual wallpainting it turned out to be beautiful !! I will place it on my website this weekend..

Love to you all !!
Anita X

Hi Anita, Well my life must be a constant joy (a dirty mind is a joy forever). Brendan is attractive to lots and lots of women, as you so rightly say. I'm afraid we will drool when watching the film but that's what makes it so much fun. I'm sure he understands that his fans love the way he looks and that leads us to watch his films and, consequently, enjoy his acting. Apart from his looks, he expands our horizons by taking on such diverse roles.
That is another thing we like about him!!! He is never boring.
It sounds like you have been very busy. It must be fantastic to do work that you enjoy so much. Keep up the good work.

Dear Rob,

Hello. I am a large fan of the first two Mummy movies. However, I am not going to lie - when I first heard all about this movie and how it was completely changing the plot, I was horrified. It seemed utterly ridiculous to me at the time that they would make a new movie without the title Mummy. However, this is not a bash comment, so please keep reading...

Then it began to dawn on me. Maybe there was a reason for this. Maybe, in this new and sudden plot turn... a new story could be formed. A new story that could tie back into the old story.

So, here is my question for you. I was wondering if you or anyone else involved in the project had any desire to try and link back to the plot of Imhotep ever again. In my opinion (which I'm sure is held by many other fans), this could create a connected and flowing narrative, while still allowing for the plot to continue forward. I have been thinking it over, and I see many possible ways to tie this new Chinese Mummy back to the Egyptians, even if more movies were to be made on the Chinese Mummies as the subject. Thank you for reading this, and I would really appreciate if you would consider answering my question.

OMG OMG OMG !!! Look at the " Visual Effects " new webisode !! is...SIMPLY FANTASTIC !!!

HELLLLLLL YEAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! GO, GO, GOOOOOOOOO TEAM COHEN !!!

Hello my beloved Family of Mummettes!!

Happy Birthday Anita !! Have a great day!.

Dear David: on march 26 ( see my post) I said " BTW...where the hell is David ?? "
I guess you should take that as a proof that I was missing you !! LOL LOL

DeeDee

HELLLL YEEEAAAHHHH!!! GO TEAM COHEN !!!!!

I noticed that, too, Steven. I hope losing those twelve minutes is just fine tuning the thing and for the better. I'm not worried. I'm sure everything changes day to day.

Anita, happy birthday, girl.

David, you tease us! I don't have proof like only Maz ca dig up, but you tease us! You give us a nibble and then you take it away. Oh, jeez, now I'm teasing you...in a different sense. Oh, well. I'm a hypocrite. It happens. lol

Comen, when I find the Book of Amun-Re, I'll let you know! There are a few passages in there I think you'll like.

The man with the hat,
Ryan

Hi there my fellow mummy family members. I just came here out of pure boredom...even though I should read V.I.B (very important books) on my masters thesis. Don't worry, will start right away.
This Mummy 3 Trailer page is such a hoax, really. There's just the information collected from all the good pages (like this or Michelle Yeohs page) and that's about it. Least of all, there's the trailer. Of course. Rob promised us to show it here on the blog side for the first time.
I'm really getting all *** here, because I wanna watch it that much...^-^
I'm waiting.
Have a nice day everyone!!

Sorry, of course there's NO TRAILER on that page. (At least not yet...)

Dear Rob

It is no surprise to me that someone would post a lnik to bootlegged footage of The Mummy 3 trailer on YouTube. (thanks Clouded)

Peace,
Steven :)

I do, Anita. I like the humming bird especially.

Ryan

And yea, thanks, Cloudy. I check youtube about three times a day for that Showest trailer.

Steven and I are gunning for ya! LOL

Hey you boys I'm relying on you to find this Showest trailer. You can do it.
Anita, I've just been on your site and it made me remember that years ago, when I was in a psychic circle, I saw a spirit (in my mind's eye) who had such purity in his face. I knew he was attached to another member of the circle. Having looked at your angel paintings, I now wonder if he was an angel. It was years ago (1991) but I can still remember his face. If he wasn't an angel he must have been a spirit guide. Isn't it funny how looking at some art can trigger a memory like that?
Sorry for waffling everyone. I got all carried away then.

man my heart was pounding whith that trailer link.

Good evening ya mumettes!

Anita, I checked your wallpaper and think it's marvellous! The red butterfly seems to tell one something, too. For me the message goes like this:

Even in the littlest things in nature there can be found something important and no human being should go and destroy nature or kill animals, because they feel superior to them. It might be the other way round...

Sorry if that didn't made any sign to you guys.

It's just that I had a "scary" feeling of being watched by nature sunday night. (That sounds funny...)
My cat hadn't returned home at around 22 o'clock, which is very unusuall, so went to our garden, that was pitch black by then, and called my cat's name. 10 minutes passed, 20 minutes. I spent half an hour in that chilly, dark garden and my cat didn't show up! I imagined him lying at the road side, killed by a car and was almost crying. And our trees in the garden made very strange sounds, like talking. I was freaking out there!
And then, when I turned to check every door we have (like garages and stable) there was that screeching tree sound again, like calling and then I turned and my cat sat there watching me. How scary is that??

Sorry if that sounded really strange...Don't think of me as totally screwed!
I think I'll go sleep now. Night.

Well, I really need sleep: I mistook "signs" with sense.
^-^ Night.

can't wait to see this movie, rob, you guys are awesome. :)

Hello Family !!

Maz i believe yhat what you saw wasn't an angel but i do believe it was your lightguide...What a beautiful experience you had, they appear when you need them the most...Yes Comen you are right every symbol or colour i paint has a higher purpose/meaning.
I painted the Christenergy because the ladies do a lot of healingwork there. They didn't asked for that energy it was given by them, because of the lightwork they do.I don't know what will appear when i start painting or drawing but along the way things become more clear to me.And Ryan if yoy saw a humming bird you should look at the character of that bird, mayve it has something to say to you regarding your life, maybe trying living in a slower pace ?
I wish i could see you all am i they only one with a website or does any of you have one too or a blog ??
Rob,do you get enough sleep ??I mean with the kids and your work ??

I am SSOOO looking forward seeing the movie !!

Hi David ,how are you doing lately ??And Dee Dee ???

Love to you all,
Anita XXX

Hello Mummy Family !!

I´m here Anita, Hi girl, thanks for asking ! Everything is OK. I´m a little busy ( at job) and, to tell you the truth, I´m getting pretty excited - along with KL and Maz - cuz our absolutely favorite actor- the Amazingly Handsome and Lovely Mr.Fraser - has been really out and about lately, promoting another movie, you know, "Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D "-which trailer I ADORE!!- and that´s keeping these 3 girl- Mummettes pretty occupied, which is a good thing, cuz our minds are a little distracted and so, we can wait ALMOST patiently for the upcoming TM3 trailer LOL LOL LOL

I hope the rest of the Mummy Family is doing OK...And above all, I hope that the three new little members of the Team Cohen and their brave Mom are really, really great !!

HELL YEEAAHHH!!! GO TEAM COHEN !!

DeeDee

That's right Mr Fraser. You are keeping us girls fully occupied finding new photos and video clips of your latest appearances. As DeeDee so rightly says, it is our way of remaining patient until this film is released. If you are reading this Brendan I'd like to thank you for being so active, on behalf of all of us. It keeps us off the streets.
Anita, thanks for that. I did wonder who he was.

Hey everyone. I just quickly browsed the previous few posts and haven't seen any mention of some new Brendan Fraser news.

Brendan Fraser has a cameo in the Stephen Summers film "G.I. Joe". He's playing Gung Ho. This has been confirmed.

Secondly,

Brendan Fraser will be at the New York Comic-Con April 20th.

Okay, so I am definitely more interested in "G.I. Joe" now since hearing the our buddy Brendan will be in it (even with it being a cameo). Yeah, I will be going to comic-con but what's so disappointing is that I have tickets for Saturday, 4/19th. When I found out Brendan's going to be there I was so excited but then when I saw he'll be there Sunday I went 'That sucks!' lol, anyways, thought you'd be interested.

Peace,
Steven :)

Stevie!

Awesome! I've only been stoked for G.I. Joe since Stephen Sommers came on. And that rocks that Brendo is going to be in it! I think I'm going to ComiCon, too. I have to figure out what day I'm going, but I will let you know.

The Ryan

OK, now...Mummy Boys, we, the girls are gonna need your help here ( I guess)...What in the world is this GI Joe movie ? ...and should I be glad if Brendan is playing that ??

( Hey this is out of topic...but, I need just a little help from my friends, you lovely guys, Steve, Ry, and surely David and the Captain... )

DeeDee

HELLLLLL YEEEAHHHH !! GO TEAM COHEN !!!!

G.I. Joe? Not familiar with G.I. Joe?!? lol jk. G.I. Jane is the movie with Demi Moore. G.I. JOE is a film being directed by Stephen Sommers and based on the action figures, cartoons, and comics. Brendan is playing the leader in a cameo. He's Gung Ho. He trains all of the G.I. Joe's. google G.I. Joe if you're not familiar.

Ryan, I'll be at comic-con saturday. Brendan's there Sunday. Oh well! :(

Peace,
Steven

Ohhhhh I hate anyone who lives in the States!!!!!! I want to go to where Brendan appears!!!! I wish he'd come over here!!!!!
Yes, I've seen the reports of Brendan's role in GI Joe. That'll be two films to see next year. Inkheart and GI Joe.
I have to say I wasn't familiar with the comics. As a kid I only read The Beazer and The Beano (and that's going back a few years). I'm sure it will be a fun film. The Rock might be in it too.

The trailer is taking forever!!!!!!!
come on not even a decent quality poster just pics taken at showest.
is there goin to even be a trailer or what?
anyone knows when it is released?
cant wait till this dream is released in theaters

Hey gang,

I see there is a lull in the room. I've been checking youtube regularly for that trailer. But, it's okay. I'm sure it will be here soon. Universal released the new Hellboy trailer, and the next logical film to sneak peek will hopoefully be our Mummy.

David! How's it all going? The next adventure is undetermined at this point. I was thinking, maybe, we could go find a lost civilization or awaken an ancient evil of some kind. Any takers? Realistically, if you'll be in New York, want to go to ComiCon?

How is everything else, team? We need an interesting conversation starter. One of the gals, if you are reading this, please try and come up with a super-bad-ass topic starter. I am just not creative enough.

Ciao, cohorts,

Ryan

Hellooooooooo,

how are you all doing.Hi David , yes people can ask me about lightwork but you can ask Maz too she knows things about this topic too.
Wow Steven you will give Brendan our best regards ,right.....
well Ryan ,i know a very interesting topic-starter..I am the only one here who told you guys and girls where i live ,my appearance,my hobbies, about private things of who i am.If you all could describe yourselfs i could make a picture in my mind of who you all are,and don´t leave the juicy details out...
Come on you won´t have to tell all your dark secrets, maybe a few Ha,ha....
Plus,Rob will get an idea to who is on his Blog...

Love to you all,
Anita XX

Ohh Anita, Did you have to? If I must!
I'm 55 years old (that makes me the matriarch here I expect) but very young at heart. I was married when I was very young but have been divorced for many years. I had two other live together relationships, which didn't work out and I'm now a happily confirmed singleton. I've always believed that it is better to be alone, happy and positive rather than with someone, unhappy and negative.
Obviously that suggests that being alone does not frighten me. In fact it never has.
Up until five years ago I worked full time in civil service but then had a bad car accident, which rendered me incapable of work (and incapable of walking in a straight line for a couple of years). I have improved balance-wise since but still have sudden losses of balance.
Because I can't exercise I am now overweight and am trying to get the weight back off to my pre-accident weight(116lbs). I am 4ft 9 ins in height (which explains why I need to lose weight urgently). I'm a very positive person and believe that a person can overcome adversity if they trust in who is guiding them. I have always felt guided and always looked for the lesson being handed to me. Yes, that's a spiritual way of thinking but it has got me through a lot of the crap life has thrown at me. If you believe it will get better and you will feel better, then that is what will happen. In my view disability doesn't need to create depression.
As you all know I recently had a little brush with breast cancer and my beliefs got me through that. Anyway my guide told me I wouldn't die so who am I to argue? I also hold the belief that there is always someone else in the world, who has far more to bear than I do. That helps me to avoid feeling sorry for myself and retain my sense of humour. You all know me to be the kind of woman who sees the humour in everything and that's another gift I've been given.
I strongly believe that everything is fated. When your time comes, it comes. I intend to be here for many years yet.
In short I'm a survivor, with a refined sense of the ridiculous and a distinctly spiritual outlook on life.
OK, I've bitten the bullet so can someone else give it a go too.

hey everyone

cant stay sorry just a quick one here at work my Internet has been turned off for a while so i wont be able to check unless i am at work ill keep in contact as much as possible for now hope you are all well and i will talk to you all later
HELL YEAH GO TEAM COHEN!!!

Maz, are you in London?

I'm also a matriarch! And I live in London.

I'm a John Hannah Fannah, and have moderated the first, largest and only remaining active JH Yahoo Group since 1999. I have met and spoken with John a number of times.

I have always read this blog but rarely commented. I value Rob's commitment to keeping us all up to date thru'out the shoot and now in post- very much. Thanks, Rob.

Wow Maz ,thank you for your cander..very special that you want to share this with us !

Well,i am waiting ...for the rest to come out...

Love Anita X

I'm not that really that interesting though Anita and Maz... LOL. I wouldn't even know where to start.

Rob:

Thanks for the great web site. My son is working on your movie, his shots were on the screen in the viewing room in your visual effects clip. Makes me a proud father just like you must be with your new family Your web site allows us to see what really goes on behind the camera. It is no wonder why R&H gets the best talent when they have something great to work on. They also know that they are working in an atmosphere that supports them and are appreciated by the director.

Again, thanks for giving us a great in-sight, I hope the kids are growing stronger and hopefully are home now.

Oh come on Cloudy....Every one of us has something interesting about us. We know how old you are and that you have an imaginative sense of humour. What else can you tell us? Don't be shy now. Come on everybody, spill the beans. THIS MEANS YOU!!!!
Denzylle, I'm not in London, although I used to live there. I'm in Somerset. Nice to know I'm not the only "older" person on here. Anyway, with age comes wisdom and we can help the young uns when they need us to.
John Hannah is great. I quite often watch him when he is on tv. I knew who he was before he was in the Mummy films. The humour he brought to the part of Jonathan was absolute genius and added to the enjoyment of the films.
Rob, I hope you have your little Cohenettes at home now.
How is your sleep pattern? Is Barbara feeling OK?

Hello there ya mummettes!

Anita, that was a wonderful idea. Maz, I feel deeply with you and just spent a minute thinking of you very hard. Did you feel it?? I really respect your view of life and that you want to be optimistic even though your life was quite hard. So you're an englishwoman? I hope you forgive me for being german...lol

Yeah, I was born on June, 29 1983 in a part of Germany which was at that time separated from the rest of the world by a huge wall. Life was not that colourful, my parents had to wait 15 years to get their car, the 200 year old farm house they were living in was really cold and shabby and the money never reached to the end of the month. But the most horrid thing living in that country was the feeling that your best friend could be an agent for the state who could bring you to jail if you dared making a joke about the so called best system on could live in.

But there were happy times in that country, too. The sun shone sometimes brighter, the people used their one hands building garden houses and planting and because the television wasn't very interesting, the most people spent their free days out in the sun.

But I was supposed to write about myself?? Sorry, but David wasn't that wrong about me: I really want to write storys. But that's my future...maybe.

Let me give you a break...

I'm back again. Try to make it shorter...
When I was born my parents where really relieved, because my mother's pregnancy almost ended in a catastrophe. But I was saved and my mother swore to never have a child again, because she didn't want to stay in bed for another 6 months...
The first four years were happy years for me. I was never bothered by the state we were living in. My father was, though. He drank too much because he could never see all the countries he wanted to wishes, never pursuit the dreams he had. So he died suddenly when I was four. That has effected my life ever since. Of course my family tried to do everything for me and I got a new dad one year later, who is my dad to the present day, but the feeling of loss has never vanished since. And I guess that's the source of my fears of being lonely or being left behind.

One of my earliest memories is the one of my mother waking me in the middle of the night and dragging me to the television where happy people were celebrating the downfall of the wall in 1989. My mother cried while holding me and afterwards I drank my first wine ever. We were free! And I didn't even realised how free...

In my first school years my mother still worked, so I was on my own a lot. I used the time to eat. And got really fat. That was a real problem at school soon enough. I was bullied starting when I was 13 or so. My parents were worried enough to go to a psychologist with me, who stated that the tragic loss of my father was never really gotten over with. After talking for the first time about my father with my mother I got somewhat better and started excercise. I did not change school (like my parents wanted me too) which would have been a defeat for me but finished school as the fourth best.

As you can guess now, I was never popular at my school. I had some few friends I could talk too, but the whole teenage love thing was totaly not in my range. Even though I had a crush on a guy for some time, I was to proud to confess my feelings. He would have laughed his head of.

Starting university I wanted to make everything different! But now in my final days I have to committ, that something went wrong. Again. I am what I am, I had to realise and even though my studies went great, my privacy is desastrous. I have friends, even more than at school, but they are mostly female! I seem to be a man-free zone! At my age this is becoming really ridiculous. I mean, come on: I'm not the thinnest girl but I'm not ugly! I'm sweet (maybe too sweet??), I certainly look too young (minus 5,6 years?)and okay, that's not what these jerks here like, it seems... Do you know the film "Unkissed" with Drew Barrimore?? That's exactly the situation!!

Woah, I really babbled too much. Sorry, Rob, this is your blog after all.
Anyway, what else is "Me"?? In love Japan, which is very obvious, but I love other countries and languages, too. I try to be friendly and helpful to everyone, even though that's sooo uncool these days in my generation...I like my Yoga lessons every week, cooking with friends, watching movies at our great theater here. Readind is not wrong either. And I try to enjoy every day, say hello to the birds and cats I meet (lol) and making pictures here and there if the occasion calls for it. Okay, I'm a dreamer. Maybe that's not very sexy??

Aargh, I really don't want to bore you anymore. And please don't reject me, now that I told you my scariest secrets.
I'm really looking forward to Cloudeds story. Have a good night.

Wow Comen!!!! I thought I had a difficult childhood. My father died when I was fifteen so I get the feeling of loss you have. I remember watching the news on the night the wall came down but I've never known, until now, what effect it had on East Germans. You have opened my eyes.
Don't worry about the lack of relationships. When the time is right it will happen. Perhaps you are attracted to the wrong type of men and need to widen your horizons a bit.
What is attractive to a man is confidence (mine has got me into trouble at times. Like the time that I was getting my coat from the cloakroom in a club and I'd obviously answered yes to several questions from the cloakroom assistant. A chap standing behind me asked me if I always said yes and I replied,"Oh I'm very agreeable". I was being flippant but he followed me home and I couldn't get rid of him. I was with friends so dealt with it in a humourous way. It taught me to keep my big mouth shut until my brain was in gear though).
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that if you feel insecure it shows and can put men off. When you are relaxed and happy you would be surprised at how many men you would attract. Also, not all men like women who look like stick insects. In fact most of them like womanly curves (I know this because I've always been curvy, even when I was very slim). Brendan married a woman with curves, didn't he?
Why would a man want someone who looks like she hasn't eaten in years.
It's all about attitude so work on your confidence.
I talk to cats, dogs, birds and any other animal I meet so you are not weird. I've even been known to talk to earthworms and bees. It's when you start talking to trees that people start to wonder about your sanity.
Anyway, thanks for joining the bandwagon and giving us an insight into your life.
Now who else is going to be brave?

Maz, I tried to post my biography three times and I kept getting that "my post" needs to be approved message. I don't know what's going on, but I'm gonna keep trying to post.

P.S. I just read your bio Comen, and I can relate to alot of what you wrote. I've been a big guy most of my life too. It is kinda hard to live with, cause quite naturally people tease and hate what they don't understand. At a certain point I just said screw it all and developed an extremely strong backbone. Confidence in oneself is the perfect defense against any outstide attack. It also helped when I got this funny t-shirt in college that read "Rub My Belly for Good Luck" with a little Buddha on it. It was such a hit with the ladies and an excellent icebreaker. I have too kind of a smile for people not to like me anyway though. LOL. And for the record Maz, you are right!! Curves do make a difference IMO. Later for a skeleton, I like my women with a lil' meat on their bones. We can keep each other warm in the winter. LOL.

Maybe the link will work now. Hopefully everyone can view word docs. What I wrote was too big for the blog.

My Bio

See Cloudy, you did have an interesting story to tell. What we experience as youngsters helps us to find our way in life. It helps form what we are. As you continue to experience life things become more clear. It's an unfortunate fact of life that we develop wisdom when we are too old to enjoy the benefits.
Isn't it funny that most of the creatively funny people on this site have experienced bullying. Being half Italian and having a continental temperament saved me from bullying at school (they were scared of me when I was angry and I was very good at dealing with the bullies verbally, making them look small). Outside in the street I sometimes got followed by a gang of boys, who used to call out, "one armed bandit". I would retort, "at least I have an intelligent brain, which is more than can be said for you lot"!!! It probably affected my ability to relate to the opposite sex in a gentle way as I got older but I had counselling later in life and am much more kindly disposed towards men now.
Adversity makes us stronger.....eventually, as we all probably know.
Come on all the others, let's hear your stories too!!!!!

Hey again everyone

Maz thanks for that little post there i havent had time to read everyone else's post but at least i now know what you guys are talking about.
I too have been bullied alot in life through primary school to high school and even outside of school as you said maz it can make you stronger but i believe you have to get through it first the same with school its something you have to make it through and when you come out the other end if your lucky people have grown up and you dont have to deal with as much stupidity...well sometimes you do but not as much.
Thing is being bullied had a very bad effect on me i became very nervous and then agoraphobic it wasn't all the fault of being bullied but it had alot to do with it. I couldn't leave the house and i also couldn't go to school full time in 4th and 5th year, i had to go for just a few hours each day with a tutor but that was great for me it help me learn, build confidence without having it knocked down all the time and after those two years i was a different person i got a good few exam and i was finally ready to go back out into the world lol so i went on to 6th year full time with everyone else to a lot of you it probably wouldn't seem a lot but to me being able to do that was a big deal, just being able to walk out the front door with out taking a panic attack is fantastic, and another thing i gained was a good friend my tutor became a very good influence on my life she has helped me far beyond the tuition she gave me three years ago shes always there even if its just for someone to talk to.
But a final line on bullying "DO NOT TAKE IT" i was always to afraid to say but if i had at least i would not have kept it to myself.
Before i go i even have a mummy relation to being bullied lol (wasn't funny at the time but here it goes) as you all know i as do you all love the mummy and i always have so one day while in Spanish class we have to read out our homework from the night before in Spanish of course and the lie was "my favourite movie is..." and of course i said The Mummy and as i did i could hear the guys behind me the one who gave me hassle snigger HAA THE MUMMY i felt really bad but i don't care just shows how weak minded they were this movie has brought me more happiness than the amount of sadness they gave me and now i have met all you guys best films in the world they go much further than the TV do you all agree.
OK Gotta go now my mummettes talk to you all later keep safe and don't take bullying.

HELL YEAH GO TEAM COHEN!!!!
Peace

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Thanx everyone for reading my little essay and sharing your thoughts.
Clouded, your bio was quite interesting, too. You lived on the Bermudas?? Can you really remember that time? Must be a great place to stay.

David, you're absolutely right: Don't take bullying! I tried to ignore it some time, but when someone is the chosen victim, it really gets out of hand fast. Fact was, I was always one of the better students and one guy in our class got really bad marks and was to transfer to a weaker school. (In Germany we have different school types, only one with highschool and the possibility of going to university afterwards) He was plain jealous and started the whole thing. The sad thing was, that the most people of my class joined in. There were quite some days I came home crying that time. My mother was furious when getting it and I went to my classteacher who I liked very much, and she didn't let me down.
First she phoned the parents of the "leaders" and then she declared in front of the class, that she wouldn't take such behaviour in her class. Afterwards it cooled down really quickly and there even where some guys who came to me to apologize. But the damage was made. I'm proud that my marks never slipped in that period.
What I learned was, that I would never made myself a fool trying to be like them.

I consider myself quite shy since that days, even though it has gotten better over the years. My travels to different countries also helped a lot. Like getting to know my american family! I got the chance to participate in a school exchange in 2000. It was only a month that we went to Fredericksburg, VA but it changed a lot for me. My american family accepted me from the first day I lived with them and I loved them ever since. I have not seen them for 7 years now (I saw them the last time in summer 2001 when I went there again on private vacation.)but plan on visiting maybe this year on Thanksgiving after I graduated and maybe got a job. They are now living in Rochester, MN. (We stayed in touch all these years.)

Yeah, the GDR wasn't quite the good place to live in. Even though now the people tend to nostaligize it. (Can you say that? I mean they only see the good things rather than the bad things.) In my childhood memories it also has a very warm light. I didn't get the feeling of imprisonment my parents had. I was happy playing outside with my childhood lover (hahaha...but he promised to marry me when we were grown up...but the last thing I heard that he is unemployed and has a baby with his girlfriend...) and going to my grandparents of my father's side. Walter and Ida were such good people, and they loved each other for over 50 years...

Maybe that's why I've got such a high ideal of love?? And maybe I want so much, that any potential guy near me is totaly put of? That's also a possibility. Maz, I really look up to you in awe, that you prefer a life as single. But you're totally right: Better to be alone and happy than be together in bad mood...

I'm writing too much again. Have a nice spring day!!

Why do some of you spam his blog? You are just talking daily stuff.

You can do that trough e-mails, not here. It` so off topic.

Yeah, sorry hm, but we just wanted to go to the next step and get to know our mummy family members a little bit better. We thought Rob wouldn't mind.
But what's with you hm? Till now I've never read your name on this board?

I really should use my urge to write for something more urgent: Like my thesis!! Well, gotta write! See you again tomorrow...

welcome HM !!!Your FIRST comment yeah ? Well we've been here for a while and like Comen says it would be rather weird if we would only write about one thing. We know it is Mr Cohen's blog but we really want to know eachother more...So if you can't understand that i suggest you take your comments elsewhere...

Anita

LOL. When will these people stop whining!? HM, everyone here talks about TM3 way more often than most. It seems like everytime we want to divert and show our humanity amongst each other some idiot wants to get pissy about it. Just relax!! We're here for Rob pretty much all day everyday and sometimes we pass the time by getting to know each other more. Who cares!? You don't have to read all the comments anyway, you can just read Rob's blogs and log the hell off. Why should we have to send emails when we can come here where we feel comfortable?? They are just words, and we can only talk about the film but so much. Shit, if you wanna go back on topic be our guest. Don't just make stupid comments and leave.

And for your info, the internet definition of SPAM is: flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, often for dubious products, get-rich-quick schemes, or quasi-legal services.

I don't think we're doing any of that!!

Soooo... HELLLL YEAAA!! GO TEAM COHEN!!

Wow, Clouded I never knew the definition for Spam.
I defined Spam always like this: S.uper-duper p.issing me of a.nnoying m.essage

Hahahaha....Okay, I just tried to be funny. I used my writing force to go on with my thesis. Will work a little more. See you tomorrow. (But now really...)

hm, I'd like to bet you were a school bully!
Like Cloudy says, if you don't like it, don't read it. If you only have negative things to say then don't bother. On the other hand, if you have any positive comments to make, feel free. We're not proud. We'll talk to anybody.
Anyway, the object of the exercise was that Rob could get to know the people who have been supporting him in this venture since he started the blog. Unlike you, Rob would probably be happy to know who we are. He has shared some of his personal happenings with us. It's his blog, not yours.
Between updates there is only so much we can say about the film. We find other topics while we wait for Rob to have the time to do an update. You can skip them you know. It's like a remote control. You can choose to go to standby mode.

Hey my Beloved Family of Brave and Adorable Mummettes!!

Woowww, sweeties, no wonder that you all are so sensitive and have such a florid imagination. You really did grow up through the pain, didn´t you." What doesn't kill You makes you stronger " BIG SIGH.
Cloudy, what was that "humility attack" dear?LOL LOL. You said your story wasn´t too interesting ? Yeah, right...Anyway Captain, you may be a lot of things, but you are not a loser. More like a survivor I´d say. Like the rest of you.
I had -so far-a more " uneventful" life I guess...Of course I lost some people I loved deeply...I never had to suffer that nasty bullying ( maybe because of my temper or my looks ) and I´ve been soooo lucky in love... BTW, because of them, my three beloved and pretty jealous men ( hey, one hubby and 2 sons...what were you thinking ?? LOL LOL ) I won´t say more about me. I don´t want them, discovering my secret Double-D identity, and snooping around DeeDee´s web fantasies !! LOL.

One more thing:
hm, you didn´t get the dynamic of this group, did you? We are talking " daily stuff" from the very beginning of this blog. We comment, discuss, and enjoy to the utmost every fantastic Rob´s update, we are waiting anxiously for news ( like the trailer !! ) but, in-between, we talk about daily stuff...just like friends use to do, cuz that´s what we are.

See ya later Mummy Family !

HELLL YEEEAAAHHH!!! GO TEAM COHEN !!!

DeeDee

I totally agree with you Maz!!( I didn´t see your post before... I guess we were posting almost at he same time !!)

DeeDee

Hey gang. Sorry for not posting sooner. I've been putting off writing my life story for a while now, and I'm not ready to write it yet.

I haven't had a chance to sit down and read everything on here yet. David said it best, there is a lot of writing on here! With that said, there's a lot of really personal stuff you guys put out there, a lot of hard stuff to say, and my hat is really off to all of you for being more brave than me. I'll write mine soon, though. Thanks for laying it on the line. I've been busier than Alex O'Connell trying to build a better mouse trap.

One post that did catch my eye was by someone saying this was all spam, or something to that effect. I didn't get the rule manual when I started posting on here. Did you guys? Mr. Cohen, did mine get lost in the mail? Or did we, the consistent posters, define what this place really is?

We don't negotiate with terrorists, as I've said, and I really think that the person who wrote that was off topic. If they thought that was the way to tear us down or to whip us into shape, that was poor planning. Why do they care to read the comments if they don't care to contribute constructively?

Thanks to all of you who swooped in and told that person off, nice work. I know I could've written my 'About Me' by now, and I apologize. I guess I wouldn't be me if I didn't procrastinate. :-)

Night
Ryan

Oh, and please do not sign that Uwe Boll petition. Posting that on here is an act of terrorism.

I'm sure Uwe Boll can't be a great director, but if he wants to continue making movies that is fine.

Uwe Boll has said if it reaches one million signatures that he will stop making films. That makes me a little sad. Thanks to Anonymous for that site. More constructive uses for the internet.

Ryan

Hey Ryan, nice to here from you again!!

Aehm, what exactly have you been busy with? Just curious. You know the internet is a free place, almost too free. And if you don't feel good about writing your personal story here, it's okay. Anyway, we like you even if you don't wanna share. So no pressure! ^-^ Have a nice day everyone. Need to write more...(thesis-zombie)

What's with my english these days?? Its "hear" not "here"! sorry---

It's OK Ryan. Sometimes people want to be private or decide to only tell others what they want publicly known. That's fine too. As Comen says, "no pressure".

Thanks, Maz and Comen. Don't worry. I'm not shy. I'll publish my 'tell-all' soon!

I've been slightly busy with school work and papers and tests, and I welcome every day as it is one day closer to final exams. I've been wrestling with that question 'what do you want to do when you grow up.' I'm 20 and not quite sure yet. You know when you get that age when you realize you are suited for a number of things, but just can't decide which one to do?

How did you decide what you wanted to do when you grew up? And, while I'm asking the questions, when will this trailer arrive? I need a recharge for my Mummy Meter!

See you all soon. Must get back to the outernet. Cheers.

Ryan

Please, copy, paste and look at this:

http:// video.about.com/movies/Luke-Ford-on-The-Mummy-3.htm?nl=1

is the link to an interview with Luke Ford ( ooohhh, aren´t you all proud of me ? I´m being so " on topic" or what ?? LOL LOL )

Anyway, it´s a nice interview, and Luke is talking about Brendan in a very respectful way.
Good boy. LOL LOL.

HELLLL YEEAAHHH!! GO TEAM COHEN !

DeeDee

Great find, Dee! Very cool to see. And very nice to have something new to whet our appetites.

Ryan

I liked it. Liiiiiked it a lot. He's definitely a hottie! lol ^-^ Of course, what he said about the movie made me looking forward to it more than I'm already looking forward to it.
The waiting for the release of the movie is a personal countdown for me, too. I have to drop of my thesis one week before release date, so I have to use the waiting time doing something important. Gotta go and write a little more today... Have a nice day everyone.

Hey my lovely mummy family of mummettes.

SEE YALL

Hi,guys and gals,am still waiting for the trailer but it seems a long wait, while we are waiting i will recomend to my friend Ryan another really good novel if he liked "SANDSTORM" is another pretty cool treasure hunting adventure by Frederic Neuwald called ALEXANDER´s SHADOW abouth abouth a french archaelogist finding Alexander the Great´s lost tomb, surely the movie adaptation could be a great hit.

Indy, that sounds awesome! I completely dropped the ball on these books. Summer will be here shortly, can you compile a list of five or so adventure novels for me to consume. Thanks, pal.

And that reminds me: Cloudy, have you read any Casino Royale lately? If you are like me, I start a book, read 60 pages and then forget about it for three months, and then slowly get back into it. lol

Ryan

How the heck are you, team?

LOL. Yea, I finished Casino Royale and Live and Let Die about two months ago. Then I started reading Moonraker and kinda fell off from there. I'm about 100 pages into that one, but I just haven't had the will or the time to finish it. I'm waiting for a long driving trip or something where I can really sit back and get into the book again. I will say though, I have enjoyed reading the books a lot more than the movies. It's just something about using your imagination that intrigues me. OK, I'm outta here!!

HELLL YEAAA!! GO TEAM COHEN!!

P.S. THE WAIT FOR THIS TRAILER IS KILLING ME!!!!!

Hey you guys,

I just read one of the most impressive books I've ever read.
It's the Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I just cried sooo much...Highly recommend it!
(what's it about? Death. The Second World War. Victims and Murderers(=Nazis). And above all Love. A very interesting mix. And the words are so beautiful.)

Hey guys,
thanks for not being to active over the weekend lol i can now catch up really quick with just a few posts to read, now i just have to read the rest of the posts on this board lol.
I love you guys we really have alot of common interests, indy that book Alexanders shadow sound great i also would be interested in getting it a having a read. I'm still reading Angels and Demons at the minute as you said Ryan you read about 60 pages then leave it for 3 months lol i do the same.
Comen I really can't believe you said you read THE BOOK THIEF I just bought that book i was standing in the shop looking at the book and i read the first page or two then i had to buy it what did you think of it I'm going to read it once i finish the one i'm reading now, to make sure its the same book it says on the back written by or narrated by DEATH doesn't it, i'm sure its the same book i'm glad you said you read it that will push me to read it now lol.

Now, wheres everyone else today? Delilah, Maz, Anita, Steven what you all at guys hope your all doing good. That trailer really is taking a while isn't it but don't worry the longer we wait the better it will be it would be worse if just any old crap we compiled together just to get it out there the quality will be worth the wait i'm sure.

OK I should go do some work now, theres not much to be done though so i may be back lol.
talk soon everyone.
David C
HELL YEAH GO TEAM COHEN!!!!
Peace OUT!
XXXXXXXXXx

I'm here David. I have been checking in each day but didn't have anything of any importance to say.
All is well in my little world at the moment (my oncologist discarged me from her care last week and told me that they don't expect my cancer to return.....THAT'S A BIG RELIEF). So I'm feeling quite happy and at one with the world.
I haven't read any books lately so I can't add anything to the conversation. When I do read I prefer biographies or auto biographies. Anyway, reading affects my sense of balance so audio books are best for me. Oh dear, I can feel an attack of Inkspell coming on!!!!!!!

I've doing the same thing to Maz. I'm really just hoping the trailer magically appears one of these days. I'm starting to feel like Steven now. LOL. I definitely won't be able to be patient too much longer. Anyways, I'm glad to read that your health has fully recovered and you can move on to bigger and better things now. I might have to take you off of sentry duty now and actually put you on the battefields now, Ay!? LOL. Ciao Everyone, I've got storyboards to draw!!

HELLL YEAAA!! GO TEAM COHEN!!

Cloudy, I think the books really are a different animal. For me, it's that insight into his mind that you don't get in this films. I still love those films so much! Hell, I've got them all! The books are gritty. I though Casino Royale was really strong. Perfect. Then, Live and Let Die was perhaps more enjoyable because it has a better villain. And times have clearly changed in what is written about certain cultures. lol Moonraker was actually my favorite of all three. That one surprised me the most. That one really gets good. I apologize, everyone for straying so far away from Mummy-related talk.

David! It is funny that you say that, because I read half of Angels and Demons and never finished the damn thing! I actually preferred it to DaVinci Code, but I think I kind of just grew tired of Brown's writing style. Three page chapters, each one is a cliff hanger. It is interesting, but grows tiresome. Are you coming along, though?

And to the rest of the team, how the heck are you? Where are you? Where is this trailer? Is anyone going to ComicCon this weekend? I know Stevie was planning on being there.

Your friend,
Ryan

P.S. I feel a kid in Willy Wonka. 'I want the trailer nowwwwwwwwwwwww.'

Ryan, If you are going to ComicCon and you meet Brendan I'll have to kill you afterwards. Oh how I wish I was in the States!!!!

hi ryan i can recomend just a a very few novels, there is CONGO by michael crichton, surely you have seen the movie, its cool but you must buy the novel, PLUTONIA by russian scientist Vladimyr Obruchev its in the tradition of those "THE LOST WORLD" by conan doyle or JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH by jules verne abouth a band of pre WW I explorers finding a warm land beneath the siberian tundra fighting their way with dinosaurs, giant mammals, primitive humanoids and a race of giant ants.

hey mummettes.
How ya all doing.
Just a quick one today have to go soon. yeah Ryan i'v gotten a good bit into Angel and Demons its good and i think i will find it hard to tire from Dan Browns writting style i like the short chapters it makes it easier to read it in short burst and i love it that every chapter ends in a cliff hanger it makes me want to read even more than i can possibly stand its cool.
I can't comment on any of your James bond talk i have never really been into it the movies or the novels that is.
Anyway were the girls at? Maz huni i am extatic to hear your great news it really is wonderful i would say now you can enjoy life but i know you and you do that anyway your an inspiration.
OK everyone I gotta head off now i have a meeting then i have to go home my internet still hasn't been swithed on at home yet but i'll keep checking here when i can k.
Bye for now

HELL YEAH GO TEAM COHEN!!!

Hi ya family !!!Maz what a great news !!!!!!!!!!!!Congratzzzz...I have been very busy as usual but i found some time to write something down...Nothing much exciting to tell , my sister rang me up yesterday and she asked me if i would join here to to to a concert of Duran Duran, yes they are still alive...But i will go coz TWENTY years ago i wnet to see them for the last time also in Rotterdam,i liked both Simon le-Bon and John Taylor....But not the one who had make-up on his face,EEEIIIWWW....Rob how are you and the movie doing these days ??????I can't wait....

Love,

Anita XXX

Maz, I'm so relieved and happy about your news! Let me hug you...*hug* Don't know if that sounds too "kitschig", but life has a different taste now, hasn't it?

I went to the movie theater today and watched "Der rote Baron" (The red baron?), a english/german coproduction about the First World War and one of it's "heros": Manfred von Richthofen. The movie has bad critics in Germany: They say its a gloryficaition of war and a hero, who certainly wasn't as "peaceful" as he is pictured there. First, I don't think war is showed in any way glorious in that movie (the dramatic effect is like this: first half of the movie - the pictures are warm, the flying scenes are great and one doesn't see too much death...second half: As the main character realises what this war really means, the pictures grow dark and one sees real destructuion). Second, Richthofen's character may not be portrayed like he really was, but there are a lot of other fictious things in that movie too.

I liked the movie and the score was great too. I guess, I'll buy the OST. You guys here, did you hear from that movie? Would you watch it? I'm just curious. Night!

Yes I'd watch it. There have been many English films set in wartime and they didn't always tell the true story about the heroes. All history is just people's recollections of a series of events. Two different people can see the same situation and perceive it completely differently from each other. It is very much dependent on what their previous individual experiences were.
The two wars between England and Germany caused suffering to the inhabitants of both countries. We all lost relatives (my great uncle was killed in the first world war and my grandfather was badly wounded. I'd like to bet that there might have been a loss in your family Comen).
Anyway, thankfully our two countries are at peace with each other these days and I don't see any reason why a German film shouldn't be made about the life of the Red Baron. Surely the man had a life away from flying and it would be interesting to see what he did when he wasn't in the air. So yes I think I would go and see it.
Incidentally folks, thanks for all your good wishes.

HI, wanna know why the trailer has not been released? Universal know the film is going to bomb and they simply can't cut a trailer that is remotely good enough. crap film. I have faith in Bello its the fact they are using the father -son concept-son falls in love with female enemy -son ahs tod ecide which side to b on.

BOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRINGG

Troll-Alarm!!

Aehm..."Alex", we had better Trolls already. You're just too Booooooorrrringgg

Now, go play somewhere else!

Well, wha do I even care? These guys never come back, don't they?

Hi Maz, you're right. At least one of my great-grandfathers was lost in battle somewhere in France...But I don't now much about it. If you think about it, it was almost 100 years ago, when the WW I started... Hopefully we'll never have to endure such a war again, but then again...the World never has seen peace and even with all the wars going on today. It's a shame.

But I'm being too negative. Even if it's not the trailer for the Mummy, here's the trailer for the Red Baron in English. (As the film was an international coproduction, the actors had t
