Hi Rob. Thanks for this latest update. You must be shattered with your heavy work schedule. I hope you do get some rest at the end of filming because you deserve it, as do the cast and crew. Five months is a long time to work solidly but I'm sure the movie will be worth all your hard work.
I know we have been very mischievous and frivolous between updates but we are aware of how hard you were all working, while we were amusing ourselves. I hope some of our posts were a source of amusement for you (and anyone else who read them).
Incidently, what was Brendan laughing at in the video?

I started reading this Blog months ago, just after its conception. At first, I'll admit that I groaned - another Mummy? Don't get be wrong, I loved the first two (the second more than I would admit to my friends); but how could you create a third that would not seem money-grabbing and over commercialized?

And THEN I read that Maria Bello (I love her, but she's not Weisz) would be taking on Evie's role. I was heartbroken. I had identified a lot with Rachel's character, being a bit of a bookworm and closet archaeologist myself. How could you change such an important character's identity?

It seemed like all hope was lost. I couldn't for the life of me see how this movie would WORK. And yet, I returned to this blog time and time again, soaking up all the amusing videos, stunning photography, and witty and informative postings. I don't know what I was looking for, but I think I found it.

I am now very much looking forward to this movie. It's true, that when something becomes personal it becomes harder to judge. I know that I probably wouldn't be half as excited for its release without this window into the production and the artistry. So thank you, Rob. Keep up the lovely posting. You've caught my attention.

I know it must be so hard to have another "child" (movie) near its end. I'm sure in some small way, every film you do is a part of you. Its only natural when your putting your heart and soul into something that you are around and a part of constantly.

And I'm sure that passion will definately show in the film, thats the real movie magic.

Heather, (I think your my twin, thats my name too! heh) I couldn't have said it better myself. I've been strongly dedicated to the franchise since the release of The Mummy in 1999, and instantly had a dedicated bond to each of the actors and everything that they did.

The second film, I thought, had just as much excitement as the first, and the characters had developed and you came to love them so much more.

When all of this started years ago with talk of a third, my heart started racing, I thought it would be wonderful to have everyone back again.

Then we started to hear of the changes, with the director, and of course, Rachel. It was very hard to stomache and because of the sole dedication to the first two films, I didn't even want to picture it or think about it being any different.

But, as you stated, and we have all stated, Rob, creating this blog and letting us, all the true fans, see into your world and making us feel like we are a part of the whole thing, was definately the best medicine for anyone who may have felt the same.

How many other directors or producers, who had started a blog for production, would have actually interacted? Would have actually responded to our posts, or created lots of goodies for our viewing pleasure, or to help us see that it in fact isn't as bad as we thought? Not very many.

Not many would give us the time of day. But you Mr. Cohen, you have, and you don't know (though I'm sure you know a good bit) how much that means to us. You are a good person, a wonderful film maker, and a wonder.

So congratulations on the upcoming fatherhood (twice), on the upcoming (and now, very awaited) release of TM3, and I hope that the final stage of the film runs very very smoothly for all involved!

Congratulations on finally finishing your shoot. I'm writing you from Kenya and I must say I'm a big fan of yours and Universal Pictures. So far i'm very, very, very impressed with what you have done. I'm also a film director (upcoming film director), although there's not much of an industry here, i'm just encouraged by guys like you who entertain the world with films that are beyond this world. Will you direct the fast and the furious 4? I wish i was in the States so that you can mentor me, i really have that angst to become a filmmaker but i dont have somewhere to stand so that i can prove myself. I'm so happy for you and your wife, i'm glad to see one of my favourite directors really doing what he's meant to be doing, God loves you. Congratulatins again man!!!!

Judging by what Rob says the cast and crew read our ramblings and if we keep them entertained, I'm all for it! If we keep Brendan entertained all the better. It's only fair, because he's kept US entertained for years.
I'm feeling a little sad that filming is coming to an end but I'm pleased to think that Brendan might get some "family time" before he embarks on his next project. I'll miss getting an update on what he's doing though.

Yes!! Yet another update!! I'm glad you've pretty much finished principal photography Rob, and I hope post-production will go smooth as you make a cohesive rollercoaster ride out of your 2500 shots. I've been wondering though, how long will Tomb of the Dragon Emperor be?? I sometimes hate when sequels are really really short (F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer), even though I do like the "wam, bam, thank you ma'am" feeling I sometimes get when they're over. It's just that most classics are near the hour and forty to two hour mark... and I want a classic damnit!! LOL. Anyways good luck on the remainder of your production and I'm hoping we'll be getting some really cool vids with you in the editing bay soon. Oh, and have fun getting your much needed R&R.

Maz and Dee Dee, After having such a wonderful and darn near heavenly Thanksgiving yesterday I have now completed my research on the time machine problem. I don't think I'm going to be able to develop a technology that will stop these random time warps we've encountered, and sorry to say it but... It's my fault that the time machine has been acting up. You see I was drunkenly entertaining a few of my gypsy girl guests on the dirigible by power lifting some kegs and when I was distracted by some gypsy cleavage, I acidentally dropped a keg on the time machine. It's been on the fritz ever since. Sorry ladies, MY BAD. LOL. I know I have a problem and will try and fix it soon. I'm gonna start going to Alcoholics Anonymous and Sex Addict classes to help me with my problems, and I'll find a time machine repairman ASAP. Until then we'll just have to make do. Welllll I gotta go now, my first AA meeting starts at 5 and I have to fly on my jetpack all the way to Washington D.C. Maybe I should have a drink before I go. LOL. UP UP AND AWAAAAY!!!

David, Wanting to be on your own is the first step to depression. Making the effort to be amongst people breaks the pattern and, eventually, you'll start to enjoy being with people. Once you go down that lonely road it is difficult to fight your way back. Make an effort to enjoy other people's company. Trust me, you'll benefit from it.

Uhhh, Sorry to say it fellow Mummy soldiers but I don't think I'm gonna be able to continue the AA meetings. I got banned yesterday for bringing my bong... I mean, water pipe(LOL) and a flask of bourbon. I didn't know you actually had to stop drinking n' stuff before you attended the meetings. Go Figure!! LOL. The AA counselors also caught me trying to "debrief" a nurse in the medicine closet. I just couldn't help it, she said she knew how to belly dance and that little nurse outfit she had on was HOT!! LOL. Geez, I have a problem and I don't know how I'm gonna solve it. I just can't see myself walking the path of the straight and narrow, I'm a drunken womanizer who leads an army and I love it!! LOL. Thanx to everyone who is supporting their mangy ol' captain, I have to get ready for my first SA class in a couple of minutes and I want to stop by the corner store for some liquour before I go. LOL. Lemme tell ya, this next meeting is gonna be an adventure... I heard that a few of the gypsy chicks are coming. I don't how I'm gonna keep it together. Until next time....

Robbie. I love the new post. Thoughtful, insightful. I'm glad you are thinking about us. I hope you had some turkey while you were over there. David, Cloudy, Maz, Dee, Suze, and Heather, love the enthusiasm. Especially Heather, you're post was cool. Keep up the spirits everybody. We have a long way until next summer, and we need to keep eachother going. We are all in this together. Robbie, do you have any idea how much we are all pulling for you, and waiting for this movie like no other? My dad isn't computer savvy, but when I show him the goings on here, he loves it. Something about the Mummy movies reminds us of youth, and just adventure. A sense of fun. It will be nice to have that sense of adventure back. We've had a lot of movies of recent that are exciting, heart-pounding, but I'm holding out for an adventure, thrill of the hunt, make me feel young again, movie. I'm hoping this is it. David, concubines are women who keep the emperor happy(if you see what I mean) but are not wives in the legal sense. They are specially trained to give physical pleasure. Sort of like prostitutes but not paid and no other man is allowed to touch them.
I kind of got the impression you were prone to depression but, let me tell you, no relative is worth getting yourself that upset about! you look for your own job. It's none of your aunt's business. Depression can be beat but it takes hard work and the willingness to look for the positives in everything. It is a completely different way of thinking. The way we deal with things is a matter of choice. You can let life get you down or believe you are strong enough to cope. If you choose the latter course it will stop depression setting in. Believe me, I have had the worst four years of my life but I refuse to let anything beat me. From past experience I know that if you don't think positively it is yourself who will suffer. You are going to have to trust in the wisdom of an older, much wiser person. I'm sure everyone else here would give you the same advice.

DeeDee, You are so right. We have to strive to be cheerful all the time. Life teaches you that you can give in to your troubles or fight to be happy. We must convince David that happiness comes from within. If you have it, no-one can bring you down. It saddens me that young people still suffer from such sadness but it is part of the learning experience of life. If you understand pain, then you appreciate the pleasures of life much more..... It's strange but will miss everyone here when the movie comes out. We've become a real family, in all sorts of ways. The connection with everyone and with Rob, Kyle and Barbara is so valuable. And I too would love to know what Brendan is laughing at! When the movie is finished, it would be great to see some feedback from Brendan, John, Luke and Maria, as well as the rest of the crew and cast, here on these pages. This is an experience none of us will ever forget.

Suzie, If Brendan posted a message on here it would give DeeDee a heart attack! Do we want that on our consciences? Come to think of it I might be pushed to an angina attack myself (and my heart's very healthy). At least we'd know what he was laughing at on the video. It would be fun to hear their take on this blog. But I don't know if DeeDee is strong enough yet. All we can hope is that they all enjoyed making this film and that our little ramblings gave them all a laugh. It certainly kept me laughing.
David, Pleased to hear you are trying to take our advice. Something else will present itself to you when you least expect it. You will get work and show your aunt what you are made of (perhaps if she stopped criticising you then you might have more confidence in yourself). Keep that chin up!!!

Yes peeps we should stay together for as long as we can. We've all had "a very good time" so far.
I won't be able to check in on weekdays after Wednesday because I'm having daily radiotherapy in a hospital sixty miles away (not weekends though) so I'm staying down there. So instead of HELL YEAH GO TEAM COHEN it'll be GO TEAM CANCER for me!! I really must stop watching those episodes of Scrubs. I'll be dying of curiosity each Friday night to see what you've all been saying. I'm not looking forward to the treatment but it's necessary. You can bet that my nose will start itching just when I'm supposed to lie completely still. It always happens to me.
I can see our little pep talks have done you some good David. You just keep on thinking that way and you'll be alright. Remember, having a refined sense of the ridiculous will get you through almost anything (yes, even cancer treatment).
I see something funny in everything that happens to me.
It's what keeps me sane (well,as sane as I can be). I hope you can try to do that too.

Thanks to everyone else for their good wishes. I'll keep the radiologists chuckling and, while I'm doing that, I'll be chuckling myself. I'm never going to let the word cancer frighten me because negativity feeds it. It's a bit scary to think it could have finished me off if it hadn't been found at such an early stage, but I don't dwell on it. I always believe that things will get better (and in the last four years I've needed that belief). Everyone has bad things happen in their lives now and then but there is always someone else with much worse problems. I'll be thinking of you all while I'm having my ancient Chinese torture and Cloudy, sweetie, we love you just the way you are and won't let you cease to be our captain (we might get you vascectomised...that's not a real word, I made it up....just to protect the female population).

Anita, I'm sorry to hear you've lost relatives to cancer. I lost a sister too many years ago but only because it was diagnosed too late. They tell me it is pretty low risk to re-occur so I won't worry until I have reason to.

Sorry David, I was a little tied up last night. LOL. Once me and that Hula Danceer finished "talking" I was visited by Bella the bellydancer, and this time she brought her sister so I was a kinda busy for the remainder of the evening. I'm glad I'm back to 100% now!! Captain Cloudy is back for good!! Screw AA and SA!! LOL. I'm gonna get another keg and see about this time machine problem. BTW did anyone check with camp surveillance?? I'm thinking there may be a spy in the camp whose been sneaking around while I'm in my tent. I will get to the bottom of this and get back to everyone. I just noticed something too... Can someone tell me why there are hundreds of terra cotta gypsy girls in our camp. WTF!!? I hope you female soldiers haven't been casting spells in my previous state of depression. As matter o' fact, if any of you did, why don't you cast a spell on the time machine so it won't malfunction anymore. I came to this film just because I spit up with my ex-boyfriend a coup of months ago and wanted to leave the sad city. But…you see, such an amazing experience you gave me. I would really love to see Rick and Alex kick some ass on a next gen system like the PS3 or Xbox 360. I'd even settle for the PSP. Maybe Universal will take the hint and get the ball rolling on one soon. Even if it came out after the flick I'd still play it.

David, it seems an expedition wasn't in order. Perhaps the space continuum didn't get jumbled this time, it just slowed down a bit. I'm glad to see everyone is still active on here. I don't really bring much to the table, just respond a bit to what catches my eye and what catches my attention. Big kudos to those who regularly show up, you know who you are.

As for the trolls, I actually don't mind trolls. I mean, I hate them, but the internet is scary. There is so much anonymity, anyone can type anything and almost never be accountable for what they say. All of us are included. Trolls suck, but they keep restoring the balance. A necessary evil.

Yea, I can agree with that Ryan. They are a necessary evil. The only thing that bothers me about the whole troll thing is the fact that most of them take their jobs wayyyyy too seriously. I mean even though what we're doing in this blog can be considered a tad overzealous at times, at least the Mummy Family uses their powers for good. And at the end of the day, we all know this sh*t is make believe and when our computers are off we are all pretty much back in the "real world". And the main reason we come back everyday is because of the relationships we've built amongst each other and with Rob and Kyle... Not to mention, that we're having FUN. We all could easily just read each bit of news and watch each video without making a peep in the message boards, but it really wouldn't feel right if we did that. Hmmmm, maybe the same can be said of the troll population. Maybe they wouldn't feel right either if they didn't blindly combat against the things that we understand and enjoy like our Mummy movie, etc. I guess the only thing that really irritates me is the fact that alot of the trolls I've encountered have been extremely vapid in all of their responses and moot points. I'm all for debating about cinema, but it gets a little old when the people on the negative side don't even listen or they're too immature to fathom the reality of a situation and respect the opinions of others. Nop bro i have never watched blackadder although i have heard of it, have been watching a few different shows lately I've become a DVD series buff lol i started with Charmed anyone of you guys watch it i love it it's my favourite to bad it had to end boo lol i have to say but i started out watching that on TV but i have recently bought shows which i never really watch when they aired suppose i just kept missing them when they were on but i love watchin the DVDs you never have to wait to see what happens next lol, i've just finished watching Buffy aww that was an amazing seven series how did i miss that and i hate that theres not another series of it to watch, i've also watch Ghost Whisperer (very cool) and Commander in Chief which is worth a watch. I'm just about to start on Greys anatomy and i've many more show lined up after that...Alias i wanna watch that and Smallville, Lost and i need to try out Angel I've never seen it but there are too many connections with Buffy for me to miss it lol after all this all i can say is thank god for eBay lol all these shows split new and for half nothin lol.
OK i think i've said to much i mean how many of you actually want to know any of this lol i'm sorry i do ramble but if any of you have opinions on any of these shows or like any other show that i could give a go shout out your opinions people i'd be happy for them.

hi ryan i was out for a while since i was discinected from the web but am here again. This latest video looks so damn cool, now there is the new CHRONICLES OF NARNIA trailer and it looks much better, so i just hope to watch the first MUMMY 3 teaser which i think could be a tottal madness according to wath we saw in this blogs. Off course we are talking abouth two way different movies but the only thing both has in common is that you see two families saving the day (the o`connels and the Prevensie brothers) and battling in a supernatural-magical realm, LOL, but certainly i think am too grow up to watch some sort of fairy tale with charming princes, talking lions,wizards etc and i would prefer watch something much more "macho type" of adventure film equally with high fantasy but i assure you that my little sister will like to watch NARNIA along with me despite mine reluctancy. it doesnt happenned to you? i love going to cinema but withouth my mi mom and sister, i dont like the kind of movies for their preference, and am not saying they like crap its just they dont like the kind of movies i do prefer watch such as war movies or some horror flick (not the gory ones,ok? i like horror but not gore)its not that i despite fantasy films, in fact i have my copies from WILLOW, KRULL and, off course THE LORD OF THE RINGS movies but i dont find "atractive" watching NARNIA nor even THE GOLDEN COMPASS but thats deal with my beliefs (those books are the opossite to wath thought and wrote Tolkien and Lewis, you know wath i mean).

Wow, once I heard that there was going to be another Mummy movie I thought that it wouldn't be started till later next year. It was amazing to see that your project is almost finished and I CANNOT WAIT till it comes out! You do not know how thrilled I am! This is HUGE news!!! I admire all the talents of your crew and wish the best to everyone. The storylines are captivating and never fail to astound an audience (GREAT JOB again). The Mummy movies will always be my favorite films, and its too bad that I will never get to be a part of them as an extra or such...

I actually want to see the Golden Compass, Indy. I will probably go tomorrow. At first I had absolutely no interest,
but I like what I see in the ads. I have yet to see Narnia, although some people swear by it.
I should probably see it. I'll miss out on another trilogy. I sat out the LOTR,
but that was because of the length. Still love me my Star Wars, though. I just checked
if Ebert reviewed it yet, and he did. Four stars. That seals my fate.
I'm going.
Also, I've been watching Van Helsing recently. On DVD last week, and last night.
TBS played it twice in a row. I actually love the movie, but I know
this is a movie that divises people.
What do you guys think? Anyone like it? Anyone despise it?
